NASA SUITS Challenge

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of students to develop an Augmented Reality (AR) spacesuit user interface on the Magic Leap One Headset for NASA astronauts to use for Extravehicular Activity (EVA) on the Lunar surface

  • Analyzed alternative solutions, and designed a problem solution that satisfied NASA requirements

  • Designed, developed, and integrated the software architecture in Unity for the user input controls, display and information placements, and a directory system to navigate EVA procedures

  • Developed iteratively in a Scrum environment to ensure product development met customer’s needs

  • System was evaluated at NASA JSC and was provided feedback on the successful product delivery

  • Proposed research to study the effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) for remote collaboration for the Master Program’s Graduate Research Project (GRP) Non-Theis Track

  • Planned and constructed a VR application in Unity using the Meta Quest 2 VR Headset

  • Application focused on the Scrum methodology environment that incorporated JIRA functionalities to create and modify issues which used drag and drop, voice dictation, and drop-down menus
